UPDATE ON HUMANE SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL!

MONUMENTAL DECISION IN THE COURTS OF INDIA

Animal Sacrifice Banned at Nepal's Gadhimai Festival, Half a Million Animals are saved from gruesome death.

PETITIONS, PETITIONS, PETITIONS, SAVE WHAT WE HOLD DEAR TO US, WE ARE THEIR ONLY VOICE TO MAKE THE DIFFERENCE IN SAVING THESE ANIMALS FROM A FATE WORSE THAN DEATH, AND WE DID. Tens of thousands of people voiced their outrage, donated and made the difference.
                               Protests were held worldwide.

Humane Society International, along with Animal Welfare Network Nepal (AWNN), have successfully convinced the trustees of the Gadhimai temple in Nepal to forbid animal sacrifice at future festivals
This is the  world's biggest animal sacrifice event held every five years for around 265 years
Earlier this year, following the global outrage stemming from the Gadhimai massacre, and the BLOOD BATH OF MORE THAN 3500 ANIMALS, (DOGS, CATS, PUPPIES KITTENS) the temple committee also decided not to sacrifice any animals during the harvest festival (Sankranti). Instead, the temple officials have been confiscating the animals and caring for them until rescuers can rehome them. Many of them will be coming to the US to be cared for and adopted. I did write about that massacre and the horrific scenes at the festival.

Facts:
  • It is estimated that more than 500,000 buffalo, goats, chickens and other animals were decapitated at Gadhimai in 2009, but in 2014 the numbers had reduced by 70 percent.
  • The origins of Gadhimai date back around 265 years ago, when the founder of the Gadhimai Temple, Bhagwan Chowdhary, had a dream that the goddess Gadhimai wanted blood in return for freeing him from prison, protecting him from evil and promising prosperity and power. The goddess asked for a human sacrifice, but Chowdhary successfully offered an animal instead, and this been repeated every five years since.
  • Among others, President Emeritus of the World Council of Arya Samaj and noted social activist Swami Agnivesh were at the forefront of urging Indian devotees to boycott the mass slaughter by holding a hunger strike at the heart of the temple.
  • B. D. Sharma, director general of SSB, was awarded with the ‘Leadership in Animal Welfare’ award for his exemplary contribution in curbing the illegal transport of animals during Gadhimai.
Media Contact: Navamita Mukherjee,

Now the task of education is up to Humane Society International and India People for Animals.  They will start the 3 year task of devoting their time before the next festival of 2019.

This is a monumental victory and it will be heard Globally through China, Philippines, Vietnam, and other countries where blood baths of our best friends, dogs, cats, horses, water buffalo, goats, sheep take place in horrific savage deaths.

We can make the difference, we must have faith and believe in everything we do for animals.  We have made the decision to dedicate our lives Protecting and Saving. Whether you choose puppies, dogs, kitties, cats, horses, marine life, wildlife, endangered species

WE ARE THEIR VOICE THROUGH EDUCATION, PETITIONS, AND GOVERNING BODIES OF LAW.

                               VICTORY IN INDIA

No life is more important than another,
and nothing we do is without purpose.

We can only measure our goodness on what we embrace and what we create.

Believe that we are all part of the Angelic Dance of Life, that someday we will understand.

Dream your dreams they are your passions to fulfill your destiny.

Be a child in your heart, this is what will drive you during your lifetime.

Be the Angel of Kindness we were all meant to be and wondrous gifts will abound us,in all we do!

And one day when we alone are capable,
we will rise and forever embraced by the
                                            Kindness we shared.  tia
